Depart early in the morning at 0630hrs after early breakfast or take packed breakfast and drive to Tsavo west the drive will take approximately 4 hrs. 30 minutes. Game drive in Tsavo west. In Tsavo West you find wide open plains, grassland, Savannah and mountain ridges alternate with in the north the Ngulia Hills, steep cliffs with high peaks that dominate the landscape. If you come in the rainy season, then this park is a green oasis. This park has beautiful hilly landscape. You will have Lunch at the lodge before proceeding for an evening game drive with visit to Mzima springs which is the freshwater source for Mombasa city. Mzima spring At Mzima Springs you have great chance to see hippos and crocodiles. For Better visibility there is a special underwater viewing chamber. Breakfast then proceed to Mzima springs for a brief walking safari with an armed ranger. This nature walk will take you to the hippo pools as well as the underwater fish viewing chamber where you may spot Nile crocodiles as well as different fish species including tilapia and black bass. Out of Africa Part of the Film ‘Out of Africa’ was shot here! After the rewarding walking safari, you will head to Chyulu gate Depart Tsavo West and drive to Amboseli national park with a brief stop at Shetani lava -the area’s most recent lava flow! The drive will last you approximately 2 hours before arriving in this world-renowned national park. Lunch and Game You will have lunch at your chosen lodge or camp. After lunch relax up to 1600hrs then embark on an evening game the park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species. Other attractions of the park include opportunity for spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro (5894m)-Africa’s highest Mountain Amboseli Amboseli is a Maasai word for ‘salty dust”. This is because during the dry season, lake Amboseli dries up and when it’s windy the dust tastes salty! The national park, covering approximately 390sq. km of swampy area boasts the largest elephant herds as they roam between the swamps and the foot of Africa’s highest mountain! Physical Attraction Other physical attractions include lake Amboseli, the Observation Hill which allows a panoramic view of the better part of this park overlooking Enkongo Narok swamp with its schools of hippos as well as herds of Elephants! For the avid ornithologists, this swamp does not disappoint with its prolific avifauna. Animal to be spotted Other animals include; buffaloes, hippos and a variety of waterfowls like pelican, Egyptian goose, jacana. You equally have a chance of spotting leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, giraffe, zebra, lion, mongoose, hyrax, dik- dik, lesser kudu, and nocturnal porcupine. At around 1830hrs proceed back to the Lodge or camp of choice for dinner and overnight stay. Start with Early Breakfast and check out, game drive in Amboseli before leaving the park and driving approximately five and half hours to Naivasha. You will have Lunch at your accommodation. After Lunch Relax before going for Boat tour at Lake Naivasha. Boat Tour On the boat tour you will equally go on a game walk at the crescent island. Crescent island is Located at Lake Naivasha Kenya in the Great Rift Valley. It is simply one of the most beautiful parks in Kenya, often considered Naivasha’s best kept secret. It is private, secure and patrolled by Guides who can accompany anyone who wishes for guided walk. Wildlife Surrounded by water, it is a peninsular and is accessible by boat from East or West. There are more animals per acre than any other Kenyan Park, hence many film companies have been to the Island to film the herds of Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Zebra and Gazelle. The sanctuary The sanctuary is not fenced to allow the wildlife on the mainland to come in as they lose their habitat to development and the ever-increasing population. Hippo graze all over us at night then sleep under the acacia or rest in the water by day. The giraffe who were born on the Island return to give birth; sometimes you see three generations at a time. Hyena come to hunt at night but are not resident on the island, the many python that do live here can be seen occasionally with a kill. Groups of Buffalo come and go but they are always monitored. Depart from your 4 hours’ drive to Masai Mara arriving in time for Lunch. At 1545hrs proceed on an afternoon game drive in the famous masai Mara game reserve where they have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird’s species recorded on the reserve. Wildlife Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino). Other wild game you could spot on your safari include hippopotamus, cheetah, Grant’s gazelle, impala, Topi, Coke’s harvester, giraffe, Roan antelope and the nocturnal bat-eared fox. At 1830hrs you will proceed back to the accommodation for dinner and overnight stay. Depart for a full day tour of the reserve with picnic lunch. This game drive will take you to the most interesting parts of the reserve including hippo pools in the Mara river. If you are a little luckier you may witness them hunting. You will have picnic lunch within the reserve before proceeding with your game drive arriving back to the camp in the late afternoon to relax. Masai mara Masai Mara is a Masai word meaning ‘spotted’, this is because when you take a panoramic view what you see is a mass of endless savannah grasslands spotted by scanty bushes of croton dichogamies’! The reserve happens to be the Northern continuation of Tanzania’s Serengeti national park from where the animals roam freely in search of greener pastures. Each year between July and October the Greatest animal spectacle -the Wildebeest migration takes place in this reserve. Wildebeests During this time close to 2 million wildebeests, followed by around half a million zebras and around 250,000 gazelles arrive in the reserve, crossing the Mara river where crocodiles often lie waiting to pounce on them! Breakfast at the camp. Departure for Lake Nakuru national park which lies in the Great Rift Valley. Brief stopover at the Rift Valley viewpoint where you will have a panoramic view of the floor of the valley with its densely populated villages. Rift Valley Descend into the Rift Valley driving through tea plantations arriving in time for lunch at Safari camp or Lodge. After lunch relax before leaving for the afternoon game drive until sunset. This game drive will take you to the shores of the lake where you will be able to alight from your vehicle and take a walk as you take photos of the flamingo colonies in the alkaline waters of Nakuru. Dinner and overnight at Safari camp or Lodge. Lake Nakuru Lake Nakuru National Park was established in 1961. It now covers an area of 188km² (69.5 square miles) and is situated in the Great Rift The 40 sq. km lake is shallow surrounded by marshes, woodland and grassland. There are some rocky outcrops and the largest euphorbia forest in Africa on the eastern side. The lake is fed by three main rivers; the Njoro, the Makalia and the Enderit rivers, as well as several springs and has some excellent viewpoints overlooking the lake from Baboon Cliff and Lion Hill. Flamingo The lake supports the blue green Cyanophyte Spirulina Platensis, which is the main food source for the brilliant pink flamingoes that can be found wading on the lake’s edge. At times, there can be up to two million greater and lesser flamingoes and tens of thousands of other birds. Food conditions change periodically, and the number of birds fluctuates at times depending on the alkalinity levels of the water! Wildlife Lake Nakuru National Park also offers sanctuary to huge numbers of native African animals including waterbucks, warthogs, impalas, buffalo, Rothschild giraffes, elands, endangered black rhinos, white rhinos and, occasionally, leopards. A large herd of hippos has a territory in the northern part of the lake, making it interesting for game viewing.
