Mombasa Kenya Day Tour

During the city tour you will visit (optional, entrance fee to be paid on site) Fort Jesus, a Portuguese settlement from 1593, with the second largest museum in Kenya. Stroll through the narrow streets and taste the atmosphere of days gone by. You will see houses with beautiful wooden frames and doors. Take a walk through “Old Town” with a guide. See how a cargo boat is unloaded with manpower in the old Dhow harbor of Mombasa.
During the city tour, you will of course visit the local market, where exotic fruits and vegetables are for sale. Admire the huge elephant tusks on Moi Avenue, which served as an arch of honor for Princes Margret during her state visit in 1952.
Leaving the island of Mombasa, you will visit Akamba woodcarving factory. Connect with the locals, and learn more about the culture and the work they do. After you have seen these people at work and have a chat, you can also visit the store and possibly buy wood carvings.

After lunch you will be taken to Haller Park where you will see various animal species. This nature park belonged to the “Bamburi Cement Factory”. The Swiss agricultural expert Rene Haller turned it into a beautiful park. He has shown that it is possible to bring a dead stone desert to life
