The Ngorongoro Crater is a collapsed volcanic crater on the edge of the Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania and a fantastic safari area. It is the largest crater in the world that originated in this way. The edge of the crater is about 2200 meters above sea level and the craters floor is about 600 meters. Within the Ngorongoro Crater you will find many wildlife for example rhinoceros, elephants, buffalo, flamingos and groups of black lions. It is possible to see the animals close by. The Ngorongoro Crater is the only place in Africa where you can see the Big Five in a single day with pretty great certainty.

- Review Kim Belgium: During the safari we made in Kenya and Tanzania, we visited the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, this is an oasis of wildlife all on its own. We had a full day game drive – this was one of the best of our vacation. We spotted lots of wildlife these included lions, hyenas, buffalo, zebra, black rhino but also a bustard in its full glory. An extraordinary event happend when a calf of a wildebeest was just being born in front of us and i will not forget the coyote family with their young. An amazing day!
