You will leave the busy Capital city and head to the Kenyan highlands. Our driver will stop at the Great Rift Valley view point which is located at the Nairobi – Nakuru highway where you will have fantastic view of the Great Rift Valley.
The valley is bordered by escarpments to the East and West. On a clear day it is a great place to catch the sunset or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery. Mount Longonot can be easily seen in the background from the view point. You can also get souvenirs from the local curio shops.
As you proceed you will also pass by Maize and wheat plantations. The tarmac ends at Narok town where you will join rough road to Masai Mara.
As you get close to masai mara you will see some Masai markets and Masai villages. Masai is one of the 42 tribes found in Kenya but live in harmony with the wild animals.

Masai Mara is known worldwide for its annual migration of wildebeest "The seventh wonder of the world" where approximately 1 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras cross from Serengeti to Masai mara, closely followed by predators such as lions, hyenas and jackals. In October, the migrations changes and proceed back to the Serengeti in Tanzania. A sight to behold! During the migration the animals cross the Mara River. The big cat follows the migration closely and it can only be compared to a walking buffet for the big cats!!!!
The Big FiveThe Big Five .. Big chance you will spot them in the Masai Mara. The term was created by big-game hunters and points to the five most difficult animals to hunt. African lion, African elephant, Cape buffalo, African leopard, and rhinoceros.

Masai Mara has game all the year round. For the best spotting of the cats we recommend November to March due to the fact that it is dryer with less vegetation cover.
From Nairobi or Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru you will equally see the same on the way but on top of that you will have perfect view of the lakes Elementaita and Naivasha. You can request your driver to stop at the local barbeque spot just to have a look at how the locals enjoy Nyama choma/Local barbeque.
