The lodge is lovely done in a Swahili style of interesting curved shapes and African art.
The rooms are all detached units with beautiful curving designs, bright colours and Swahili beadwork décor. Bedroom had a large comfortable bed, desk area, sitting area looking out over the water hole, and large bathroom with modern amenities and great hot water. Wifi worked well. Our room (all rooms) looked out over the vast Mara plains and river and the water hole (where a couple of water buffalo and family of wart hogs are there to greet us). Beautiful pool area with great views down over the Mara plains (very nice to cool down after safari). Lots of pool loungers and outdoor seating available. Small gift shop in lobby with some nice souvenirs and clothing items. Large lobby and bar area for indoor or outdoor lounging. Great buffet dinner, lunch and breakfast with hot food stations for eggs, pasta etc. The Masai perform a traditional dance each evening in the lobby. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Most of the dining staff are from the local Masai community and it was nice to learn a little about them.
