4 Days Safari Kiboko

Kiboko is a swahili word which means “Hippopotamus”. This safari start at Nairobi  hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and ends at Diani,Mombasa or Malindi beach hotel.On this safari guests will visit  the  famous Maasai Mara  and Amboseli . Clients on this safari  have a higher chance to spot the big five and the view of Mt .Kilimanjaro (if its not clouded) at Amboseli National Park.

DAY 1: NAIROBI HOTEL TO MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

You will be picked from your Hotel then transferred to the Wilson airstrip for approximately 45 minutes flight to Masai Mara Game reserve.

You will arrive in time for lunch at your chosen accommodation. After Lunch at approximately 1600 hours embark on your first safari in the reserve till sunset. Animals expected to be spotted include;

Animals To be Spotted

The Big Five; Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and the Leopard. Other big mammal species represented in the ecosystem are herds of Wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, impalas, Masai giraffes and other kinds.

DAY 2: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Early morning game drive before breakfast at the Camp. After Breakfast mid-Morning game drive in a shared open sided 4×4. This game drive will take you to the most interesting parts of the reserve including hippo pools in the Mara river or Talek river.

You will have a chance of spotting the super predators; families of lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyaenas, as well as their prey! If you are a little luckier you may witness them hunting.After Lunch siesta before going for an afternoon game drive at 1530hrs.

Great Migration

Game abounds here, particularly when the migration is on – July to October, and millions of wildebeests and zebras make their way back and forth across the Mara River on their annual trek.

Mara Wildlife

The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black manned males. You’ll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you’re lucky – leopard, cheetah and rhino.

All the Big Five are residents. You are sure to see the African buffalo. At approximately 1830hrs drive back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Maasai Mara Reserve

Maasai Mara is a Maasai word meaning ‘spotted’, this is because when you take a panoramic view what you see is a mass of endless savannah grasslands spotted by scanty bushes of croton dichogamies.

The reserve happens to be the Northern continuation of Tanzania’s Serengeti national park from where the animals roam freely in search of greener pastures.

The great Migration

Each year between July and October the Greatest animal spectacle -the Wildebeest migration takes place in this reserve.During this time close to 2 million wildebeests, followed by around half a million zebras and around 250,000 gazelles arrive in the reserve, crossing the Mara river where crocodiles often lie waiting to pounce on them!

DAY 3: MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.

Morning game drive before breakfast. After Breakfast Mid-Morning game Then Lunch, after lunch transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Amboseli National Park.

You will arrive at approximately 1530hrs then embark on an evening game. The park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species.

Other attractions of the park include opportunity for spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro (5894m)-Africa’s highest Mountain

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National park, covering approximately 390sq. km of swampy area boasts the largest elephant herds as they roam between the swamps and the foot of Africa’s highest mountain!

Other physical attractions include lake Amboseli, the Observation Hill which allows a panoramic view of the better part of this park overlooking Enkongo Narok swamp with its schools of hippos as well as herds of Elephants! For the avid ornithologists, this swamp does not disappoint with its prolific avifauna.

Animals to spot

Other animals include; buffaloes, hippos and a variety of water fowls like pelican, Egyptian goose, jacana.

You equally have a chance of spotting leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, giraffe, zebra, lion, mongoose, hyrax, dik- dik, lesser kudu, and nocturnal porcupine.

At around 1830hrs proceed back to the camp or lodge of your choice,

DAY 4: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK TO DIANI/ MOMBASA/ MALINDI BEACH HOTEL

Morning game drive before breakfast. After Breakfast Mid-Morning game drive then lunch, after lunch transferred to the airstrip for your flight. Meet at The Airstrip and transferred to your Mombasa Diani or Malindi beach Hotel.
