Kariba is a Swahili word that means “welcome” this safari commence at Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta international airport and end at a Malindi Mombasa or Diani beach hotel.Guest on this safari will visit Amboseli National Park Tsavo west National park and Tsavo east national park. Guest will have a chance to spot different wild animals such a s lions leopards elephants buffalos among other animals and different species of birds.
Safari Tour Highlights
DAY 1 NAIROBI TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel in the morning drive to Amboseli National park .
The drive will last you approximately 5 hours before arriving in this world renown national park. You will have lunch at chosen accommodation.
Animal expected to be spotted
After lunch relax up to 1600hrs then embark on an evening game the park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species.
At around 1800 hrs proceed back to the Lodge or camp of choice for dinner and overnight stay.
Amboseli National Park
Amboseli is a Maasai word for ‘salty dust”. This is because during the dry season, lake Amboseli dries up and when it’s windy the dust tastes salty!
The national park, covering approximately 390sq. km of swampy area boasts the largest elephant herds as they roam between the swamps and the foot of Africa’s highest mountain!
Other physical attractions include lake Amboseli, the Observation Hill which allows a panoramic view of the better part of this park overlooking Enkongo Narok swamp with its schools of hippos as well as herds of Elephants! For the avid ornithologists, this swamp does not disappoint with its prolific avifauna.
Animals Expected to be spotteed
Other animals include; buffaloes, hippos and a variety of water fowls like pelican, Egyptian goose, jacana. You equally have a chance of spotting leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, giraffe, zebra, lion, mongoose, hyrax, dik- dik, lesser kudu, and nocturnal porcupine.
DAY 2 AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK/ TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
Take an early morning breakfast before departing Amboseli national park with a game drive en route .
The drive will last you approximately 3 hours before arriving Tsavo west national park in time for lunch at your chosen lodge or camp.
Animals expected to be spotted
1600 hours embark for the evening game drive where you will have a chance to spot different wild animals such as elephants, lions, leopards herd of buffalos and different species of birds then proceed to Mzima springs which is the freshwater source for Mombasa city.
At Mzima Springs you have great chance to see hippos and crocodiles. For Better visibility there is a special underwater viewing chamber. At approximately 1830hrs proceed back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of choice.

DAY 3 TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK/ TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK
Take an early morning breakfast before departing Tsavo west national park with a game drive en route .
The drive will last you approximately 1 hours before arriving Tsavo east national park have a en route game drive heading to your accommodation for lunch .
Wildlife expected to be spotted
After lunch you will relax then at 1600 hrs begin spotting animals where you may be able to see a wide variety of wild animals. Animals expected comprise; lion, leopard, cheetah, zebra, giraffe, serval cats, kongoni, kudu, oryx, impala, hyena, gazelle, buffalo and the “red” elephants (colored by the reddish soil which they apply on their bodies during sand bathing).
Around 500 bird species have been observed in the park, including ostrich and several species of migratory birds.Tsavo East, covering an area of 13474 sq. km is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Kenya. The elephants seem to have a red colour, just like many other animals in the park, which is caused by the red dust which they spray on themselves against insects or parasites.
Lion of Tsavo National Park
The lions of Tsavo owe their fame to the book and movie “The Man-eaters of Tsavo”. Here a few lions ate several railroad workers during early 20th century. The lions were later shot dead. It seems the reason they attacked people was because of their bad teeth, which made it difficult for them to chew buffalo or gazelle meat. At around 1830hrs drive back to the lodge/ camp of choice for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: TSAVO EAST TO DIANI/ MOMBASA OR MALINDI BEACH HOTEL
Tea or coffee. Early morning game drive in the park. This game drive allows you to see nocturnal animals as they retreat to their hideouts. Breakfast in your lodge. After breakfast depart for Mombasa or Diani beach arriving at the beach hotel at around 1430hrs.
