Karibu safari

Karibu is a Swahili word that means “welcome” this 4 Day Safari Karibu Kenya commence at Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta international  airport and end  at a  Malindi Mombasa or Diani beach hotel.Guest on this safari will visit Amboseli National Park Tsavo west National park and Tsavo east national park. Guest will have a chance to spot different wild animals such a s lions leopards elephants buffalos among other animals and different species of birds.

Safari Tour Highlights

DAY 1 NAIROBI TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel in the morning drive to Amboseli National park .

The drive will last you approximately 5 hours before arriving in this world renown national park. You will have lunch at chosen accommodation.

Animal expected to be spotted 

After lunch relax up to 1600hrs then embark on an evening game the park is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants among other wildlife species.

At around 1800 hrs proceed back to the Lodge or camp of choice for dinner and overnight stay.

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli is a Maasai word for ‘salty dust”. This is because during the dry season, lake Amboseli dries up and when it’s windy the dust tastes salty!

The national park, covering approximately 390sq. km of swampy area boasts the largest elephant herds as they roam between the swamps and the foot of Africa’s highest mountain!

Physical Attractions

Other physical attractions include lake Amboseli, the Observation Hill which allows a panoramic view of the better part of this park overlooking Enkongo Narok swamp with its schools of hippos as well as herds of Elephants! For the avid ornithologists, this swamp does not disappoint with its prolific avifauna.

Animals Expected to be spotteed

Other animals include; buffaloes, hippos and a variety of water fowls like pelican, Egyptian goose, jacana. You equally have a chance of spotting leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, giraffe, zebra, lion, mongoose, hyrax, dik- dik, lesser kudu, and nocturnal porcupine.

DAY 2 AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK/ TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK

Take an early morning breakfast before departing Amboseli national park with a game drive en route .

The drive will last you approximately 3 hours before arriving Tsavo west national park in time for lunch at your chosen lodge or camp.

Animals expected to be spotted

1600 hours embark  for the evening game drive where you will have a chance to spot different wild animals such as elephants, lions, leopards herd of buffalos and different species of birds then proceed to Mzima springs which is the freshwater source for Mombasa city.

At Mzima Springs you have great chance to see hippos and crocodiles. For Better visibility there is a special underwater viewing chamber. At approximately 1830hrs proceed back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of choice.

DAY 3 TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK/ TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK

Breakfast then proceed to Mzima springs for a brief walking safari with an armed ranger. This nature walk will take you to the hippo pools as well as the underwater fish viewing chamber where you may spot Nile crocodiles as well as different fish species including tilapia and black bass. Part of the Film ‘Out of Africa’ was shot here! Proceed to Tsavo East arriving in time for lunch at Accommodation  

The main birds found in Tsavo East throughout the year include; Hunters Sunbird, Golden-bellied Starling, Tawny Eagle ‘White-backed Vultures, Kori bustard, Pale Chanting, Bateleur eagle, Red-Billed Hornbill, African Grey Hornbill, Whalberg’s eagles, Spotted-eagle owl, Taita fiscal, Red & Yellow barbets, D’Naurd’s barbet, Spot-flanked Barbet, Fischer’s sparrow lark, Long-billed Pipit, Rosy-patched bush shrike and much more migratory species of birds.

The Park is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust –red elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, leopard, schools of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, Lesser Kudu, Gerenuk.

Dinner and overnight stay at Tsavo east in your chosen accommodation.

DAY 4: TSAVO EAST TO DIANI/ MOMBASA OR MALINDI BEACH HOTEL

Tea or coffee. Early morning game drive in the park. This game drive allows you to see nocturnal animals as they retreat to their hideouts. Breakfast in your lodge. After breakfast depart for Mombasa or Diani beach arriving at the beach hotel at around 1430hrs.
